Check out Kylie Brant's newest contest at: http://kyliebrant.com/contest.php and if you are looking for some great reading check out her latest series, Mindhunters: Waking Nightmare, Waking Evil and Waking the Dead from Berkeley Sensation. Kylie's own words say it all: Brilliant criminologists, unlimited resources, infinite time.....the bad guys can still run, but they cannot hide. I've been a fan since she captured my attention with Last Warrior and each book has gotten better and better. Mindhunters is clearly the most explosive yet!

Michael's Flight - Descendants of Earth Book 2 is now available for the Kindle!

I still get this feeling of arrival and accomplishment when one of my books makes it on to Amazon and the Kindle. It's a thrill to see one of my books paired with popular authors who have an impressive back list, often of titles I've read and enjoyed.

So far Michael's Flight hasn't been paired up or reviewed, but it has been tagged!

Amazonia -- Book 2 of Descendants of Earth has a home!

And this was utterly painless! It helps to have a really, really, really good editor working with you!

Amazonia is book two my Descendants of Earth series. Readers met Michael La Rosa in book 1, Jason's Accord. Initally Michael was just a secondary character, nothing special and there to move the story along. Well one of my two editors at eXtasy (I adore both of them), Bea, felt there was something more to Michael and she egged me on to do his story. So for my 2008 Nano Write I did Michael's story -- Amazonia. With some fine tuning the past few weeks I took a deep breath and submitted it on Monday night to eXtasy....and woke up the next morning to a contract for it! My editor liked the original story, likes to keep series together and liked the synopsis. I'm thrilled! Amazonia will be available at eXtasy Books at www.Extasy.com

I like this story - it was a stretch for me and it felt good to take myself to another level.

Jason's Accord Contest Winner!

Not-so-Little Mel, my offical contest guy has picked Peggy at the winner of The Body Book by Anne Akers Johnson!

The answer to the question -- a bath. When in doubt about what to do next Jason suggests baths, but what baths you can take with him!

Jason stood at the bathing chamber door, silently watching Miranda as she slowly moved her gaze about the room. He enjoyed watching her take in the room for a few moments before speaking. Even though she was a grown woman, there was an innocence about her coupled with what, he was sure, was an inquisitive and intelligent mind. She was a surprise in how different he had thought about her people.
After all the intrigue and arguments at the Council’s meeting today, it was refreshing just to watch the lovely woman he’d brought into his life. The aggravation and trials of the Accord, at this point in time, were just from the Martan’s ideas and plans…they hadn’t even begun to negotiate with the Eadronis. Oh, there had been some discussions, but nothing concrete. They had met to make some initial decisions, and now the representatives were looking at their own demands and concessions. The battle, and a battle it would be, would begin in truth when the representatives of the two planets met to hammer out the details.
Losing interest in just watching, Jason wanted to get his hands on her. “I’ve had a long, somewhat tiring day and thought to take a hot bath. Do you care to join me?”
Miranda jumped at the sound of his voice and turned toward him. She nodded and started across the room to him.
Taking her hand in his he led her to the tub.
“Oh! I did not realize this last night . You have a jet tub. Like on old Earth! They called them, mmmmm, hot tubs. How did I not see this before?”
Jason smiled at her enthusiasm—it was the first true emotion the woman had shown and her voice, in its enthusiasm, was most pleasing to hear. “Yes, have you tried one?”
Shaking her head, she looked to him to see what he wished and, in a moment he reached over to untie her robe before undoing his own. With her hand in his, he guided her into the tub. Seating himself near one of the jets, he leaned back and pulled Miranda to sit with her back against him, nestled between his legs. Holding her lightly he sighed, closing his eyes and enjoying the pulsing warmth, the feel of her in his arms. “So, do you know many things about Old Earth?”
“Yes and no.”
“Yes and no?”
“Yes…I know many of the legends and stories and have heard about things like this, but I don’t know how much is true. Do you know what I mean?”
“Mmm hmm, after six hundred to seven hundred years one can only imagine what was true.”
“My father had a fondness for many of their tools, enjoyments and ideas. He collected what he could find, but he never acquired anything like this.”
Jason watched, mesmerized as her hand fanned back and forth, playing in the water from a jet near her. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw her move her leg in sensuous flow along another spray. As he cupped her breasts, Miranda turned slightly.
“You had a trying day?”
“Mmm.”
“Would you…I could…I know…would…”
His hand came up to play in her hair, enjoying the softness of it where it trailed from the bun she had tied on her head. “Would I what?”
“Would you like me to rub your neck?” she asked with quiet hesitancy.
“Very much so.” He wasted no time changing places with her and allowed her hands to work on his neck. He’d hoped she would begin to feel comfort in touching him…Jason thought back. Was it only two days ago I asked her to bathe me and she wasn’t at ease doing so? This is good. No…not good…this is wonderful. For such a small woman her hands were certainly strong and sure as she worked along his neck and shoulders. As the tension left his shoulders, it built ever steady in his cock. Leaning back to take her lips in a kiss, she allowed him in, but did not return the kiss. Curious, she would massage his shoulders, but not kiss him.
Finally standing, he took a fluffy towel to pat Miranda dry before toweling off himself. Starting to return to the bedroom, she glanced at him a moment before following. “Are you well?” Jason asked.
“Yes, I am fine.”
Noting her slight smile, he inclined his head. “What’s on your mind?”
“In the past you have carried me to your bed…do you trust me to find my own way tonight?”
Bursting into a deep laugh, Jason picked her up and carried her to the bed. “It is not that you will not find your way, it is my pleasure in holding you!”

Celebrating the release of Jason's Accord

Jason's Accord has been released with eXtasy Books and to celebrate I'm holding a contest -- the prize is The Body Book - Recipies for Natural Body Care by Anne Akers Johnson along with a box of oils and spa "tools" to work with. It looks like a fun kit!

To enter, all you need to do is, in a comment, tell me what it is that Jason is always offering to Miranda. You don't need to have read the book to know -- I think it's pretty easy to figure out...

Jason is smart, brave, a warrior and leader. He's got his act together until he meets Miranda. The little Eadroni turns this Martan leader's world upside down and whenever Miranda manages to flamox Jason, he offers her something - what is it?

Hint - what is it we do (or at least I hope we do!) every day, at least once a day that involves water and our entire body?

Jason's Accord - ready to launch!

Coming this Saturday, August 1 you can get your hands on Jason and see just why Miranda falls in love with him. And, as a bonus, meet Michael LaRosa!

The Hero's Point of View

I had someone make an interesting proclimation to me yesterday -- she said that it was a rule, a major rule in romance that you HAVE to start out in the heroine's point of view. That it was a major no no to start out in the hero's.

Well, Jason's Accord begins in the female's point of view -- but it's what starts the drama. Jason's a closet alpha -- he's got the tendencies, but he keeps them pretty bottled up until he needs them. He's really a sweet guy -- just with some issues around honesty.

But that statement kind of blew me away. There I sat thinking I'd missed something very major. Then I heard from such well known authors as Kate Douglas, Karin Tabke and Carolyn Jewel that they'd never heard of such a thing and.....their major alpha guys lead off their stories.

So, what do you think when you open a book and it starts with the guy's point of view?

Major Cass Winters IS America's Hero
Now is your chance to nominate America's Hero and Help me find Austin Quinn

America's Hero is my newest time travel and due out with Champagne Books (www.champagnebooks.com) in March 2009. Austin Quinn is a Hollywood hottie and he has played not only some of the greatest heroes America has seen, he's also played such icons as Achilles and Robin Hood in his movies.

FINDING AMERICA'S HERO CONTEST is a two part
contest with hopefully something for everyone.

Michael LaRosa

Michael started out as just a regular guy. The best friend. The one without the alpha's sex appeal. The guy your mom wanted you to bring home when you wanted the other guy.

When I finished writing America's Hero I thought a bit about Michael and though that the part that takes place on Amazonia sounded a bit like the kind of story that would happen to Michael.

Well, my editor, Bea, for Jason's Accord quickly developed tender feelings for Michael. Okay, they weren't exactly tender like a little brother. She saw the character as what he could be. I'd already pretty much thought about doing Michael's story, but with Jason's Accord 30 days away and America's Hero on its way, I really like the idea of doing Michael's story. Stay tuned!

Miranda

Sweet, petite, with long dark hair and sapphire blue eyes she is the epitome of an Eadrani woman. A politican pawn she flees her home, hoping she will find a way out of a marriage she does not want. Making her way to the Littan moon where many of her planet go to relax and get away from life's stresses she hopes to find an answer to her problem.

What awaits her there is her worst nightmare come true. Would the marriage she ran from been better than the life she is now trapped in? And what of her loyal friends -- will they rue their decision to venture to Littan with her?

Meet Jason DuMont

With his blond hair and deep green eyes Councilor Jason DuMont is the epitome of the Martan male. A warrior before a member of the governing board of the planet he strives for what is right and that includes being firmly in the anti-slavery camp. Martan has long kidnapped the inhabitants of other planets, particularly Eadroni woman and enslaved them. While he has no great love for the Eadronis, he wishes for peace with them. When his friend Michael entices him to an auction featuring several women from Eadron, Jason grudgingly goes only to find that his heart is soon at stake.
